You may think this college scholarship tip is old-fashioned, but it truly works!
Having the right tools is a major part of the scholarship-winning process. One of the best and most detailed scholarship listing books is The Ultimate Scholarship Book by Gen and Kelly Tanabe.

The book is updated yearly and scholarships are listed by state, intended college majors, club affiliations, ethnicity, and more.

When making notes on each scholarship, jot down:
Full name of the scholarship
Who may apply (high school senior, college student, etc.)
When the application is due
Amount of scholarship money offered
When awards are announced
Whether it is an online-only or mailed-in application
What other materials are required (transcripts, letters of recommendation, essay)

Making a detailed list of what each scholarship requires will save time and avoid unnecessary research when it comes time for students to apply.
Also, a scholarship may be found that a student would be qualified to apply for the following year in school, and the information will already be saved and can be quickly revisited when all application qualifications are met.
