The Kresge Foundation Awards Scholarship America $150,000 Technology Development Grant
By Scholarship America
Scholarship America, the nation’s largest scholarship provider, is proud to announce that The Kresge Foundation has awarded our organization a $150,000 12-month technology development grant. The grant funds will contribute towards the development of a new data insights product, which will help Scholarship America more efficiently distribute scholarships to talented students facing significant financial need.
“The more we understand about our students, the better we can help them face their challenges, and we are grateful for Kresge’s support of our work,” said Don Yu, Scholarship America Chief Strategy & Product Officer. “This data insight innovation will be crucial for measuring progress toward our North Star goal of maximizing the scholarship dollars that are awarded to students from historically marginalized communities who have significant financial need.”
“Despite the many investments and initiatives designed to remove the cost barrier of getting to and through college, we are still seeing students struggle to afford a degree or credential,” says Reuben Kapp, Program Officer serving The Kresge Foundation’s Education Program. “Scholarships are a lifeline for thousands of students every year and we are excited to support Scholarship America’s efforts to help get necessary financial aid to scholars who need it.”
