Scholarship Points – An Easy Way to Win Scholarship Money?
Is it really possible to win scholarship money with points? Are scholarships such as this legitimate?
I’m referring to ScholarshipPoints, the program that entices students to click their way into earning points and saving them up for scholarship drawings.
I have two definite thoughts about this program:
1. Someone has to win, and the scholarship winners are clearly and frequently posted on the site each month.
2. Doing surveys and signing up for websites is very time-consuming and may lead to NO scholarship money at all.
Because of #1, students (or parents for their students) can spend a few minutes a day earning ScholarshipPoints, but because of #2, ScholarshipPoints should NEVER be the ONLY method of trying to win money for college.
I’ve read about students who save up thousands of points for a certain drawing, only to be bitterly disappointed when they don’t win. On the ScholarshipPoints Facebook page, there are many posts from students (especially international students hoping to study in the U.S.) who are desperate for college scholarship money and see ScholarshipPoints as their means of getting it.
Do students actually win no-essay scholarships like this? YES!
Here is proof:
MORE GREAT NEWS! In December 2021, my youngest son won a $1000 scholarship from ScholarshipPoints!!!
Can you handle a few more? In the spring of 2023, a parent in our Scholarship Help and College Talk for Parents Facebook group shared about her daughter winning a $1000 scholarship from ScholarshipPoints! In April of 2024, a grad student that I know won $1000!
Are they legit? Absolutely! ~ Monica Matthews
The bottom line is to spend a few (A FEW!) minutes a day checking out the latest offers from ScholarshipPoints and earning points to put into the scholarship drawings.
There are LOTS of $1000 drawings to choose from (three different ones per month) to big awards ($2,500) given one per month.
Winning Tips: In addition to the advice above, make it a habit every Tuesday to grab some easy scholarship points with codes shared via social media. 100-point codes are given on Twitter (X) and Facebook.
By doing almost nothing, a student can grab 450 points a week to use for the scholarship drawings of their choice.
(Update: Students now earn 50 points daily just for logging in.)
To avoid emails cluttering up their inbox, students need to set up a unique email address, as I share in this post, just for programs like ScholarshipPoints, and make sure this email is checked regularly, as this is how students are contacted if they win a scholarship.
Be aware that if the student does not respond to the email within three days, the scholarship is forfeited, and another winner is chosen.
No personal information, such as a student’s social security number, should ever be shared when completing the online surveys or activities for points.
