Apply to fully funded PCST2023 Conference in Rotterdam, Netherlands 2023 – Diplomacy Opp

[ad_1]

The Rotterdam Fellows programme will support people resident in lower-income countries to attend the PCST Conference in Rotterdam. This assistance will help cover the cost of fares, accommodation, visas and the registration fee.

The global science communication community will come together for PCST 2023 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

We start on Tuesday 11 April 2023 with a full day of pre-conference workshops that will be free for all registered delegates, but advanced registration will be required (more details will follow closer to the event). Workshop topics include storytelling, the value of listening, inclusive science engagement, using art to share science and communicating science in plain language.

The main conference will run over three full days (12 – 14 April 2023, 08:30 to 18:00 daily), featuring an exciting line-up of plenary speakers, themed lunch sessions and a packed programme of visual and oral presentations, mini workshops, performances and demonstrations.

Successful applicants may also be invited to take part in an extra session, a roundtable conversation on the challenge of communicating science in lower-income countries.

About ten people will be awarded funding to support their attendance, which may include registration, travel and accommodation.

Applicants will be chosen from people whose proposal to speak at the conference has been accepted: a paper, a roundtable discussion or in any other format.

They may also be invited to take part in an extra session, a roundtable conversation on the challenge of communicating science in lower-income countries.

Preliminary announcement of successful proposals will be made by 30 November this year and people from eligible countries and with an accepted proposal will be invited to apply for support.

How To Apply?

Applications close on 14 January 2023. The outcomes will be communicated on 24 January 2023. PCST 2023 promises to be brimming with energy, creativity and new ideas for creating common ground in science communication. Book your seat by registering here.
